Hello!

Today's project is a review of techniques already discussed. But there are two products that are new to us today.

One of them is the pearl stain as a base coat and the other one is glitter decoration.

Pearl stains are semi-opaque colors. They are applied directly to the bisque. For this project we used a white opaque coat of color before applying the pearl stain. Applying the opaque stain accentuates the iridescent quality of the pearl stain.

They are a water-based pearl luster. When applying the pearl stain keep the brush well loaded with the color.

You must stir frequently the product to suspend the color pigment.

They are permanent and self sealing.

They are intermixable. If thinning is required use water.

Application can be made with any brush. The brush should be cleaned with water.

Some of the methods of application are:
  1. Brushing - for all over solid color coverage.
  2. Airbrushing
  3. Sponging
  4. Detail design

Possible problems:
  1. Ridges or lap marks -caused by too heavy an application. To avoid this problem you must brush out very well the pearl stains. To correct this problem re-fire and start over.
  2. Hard spots -this will cause resistance to the pearl stain application. Solution: sand the area with a rubber scrubber or apply an opaque stain over the area first.

If you want to create the look of oriental silk, the pearl stains are very effective to achieve this.

If you use natural flowers to decorate the hat, you should use glaze to finish the inside of the vase.

If you cannot glaze the piece, you can use a plastic liner.

El proyecto de hoy es una revisión de las técnicas ya discutidas.

Pero hay dos productos que son nuevos para nosotros.

Uno de ellos es el tinte perlado usado como base y el otro es la escarcha.

Los tintes perlados son semi-opacos. Son aplicados directamente al bizcocho. Para este proyecto usamos un tinte blanco opaco como base antes de aplicar el tinte perlado. Al aplicar el tinte opaco primero acentuamos la iridiscencia de los tintes perlados.

Cuando se apliquen los tintes perlados el pincel deberá estar bien cargado de pintura.

Debes mover los tintes perlados frecuentemente para mantener el pigmento del tinte en suspensión.

Estos tintes son permanentes y sellan por sí mismos.

Estos pueden mezclarse para formar otros colores. Para diluirlos utiliza agua.

Usualmente se utiliza un pincel para su aplicación. El pincel debe lavarse con agua.

Algunos de los métodos de aplicación son:
  1. Pinceladas -se utiliza para una cobertura total
  2. Pincel de Aire
  3. Esponja
  4. Para detallar

Posibles problemas:
  1. Marcas de pinceladas o grumos -son causados por una aplicación muy espesa. Para evitar este problema deberá suavizar las pinceladas. Para corregir el defecto vuelva a quemar la pieza y comience de nuevo.
  2. Punto duro -esto causará resistencia a la aplicación del tinte perlado. Solución: Lijar el área y aplicar un tinte opaco sobre la misma.

Para crear la apariencia de seda oriental los tintes perlados son muy efectivos.

Si usas flores naturales para decorar la pamela, debes utilizar vidriados en el interior de la vasija.

Si no puedes vidriar la pieza utiliza un forro plástico.
