For the purpose of demonstrating today's technique we will use mainly the girl's plaque for our photos.

Como demostración de la técnica de hoy utilizaremos principalmente la placa de la niña en nuestras fotografías.

PROCEDURE

Step 1

Remove any dust from the ceramic piece with a wet sponge.

Paso 1

Elimina todo el polvo de la pieza con una esponja húmeda.

Step 2

Place an amount of the dresden flesh stain on your tile.

Using the shader brush paint the face, hands and neck area.

Paso 2

Vierte tinte opaco "dresden flesh" en tu loza.

Usando el pincel chato pinta la cara, las manos y el cuello.

Step 3

Use the ivory stain to paint the girl's apron, hair bows and the goose body.

Paso 3

Usa el tinte opaco crema para pintar el delantal de la niña, los lacitos y el cuerpo del gansito.

Step 4

Using the light gray stain apply one or two coats of the color to the rest of the piece.

Aplica una o dos capas de tinte opaco gris claro al resto de la pieza.

Step 5

Detail the face:

Paint the eyes with the white and dark blue stains:
  1. use the white stain to paint the eyeball.
  2. use the dark blue stain for the iris.
  3. place a tiny dot of white stain on the iris to bring some light to the eyes.
  4. outline the eyes with the brown stain.

Paint the lips with the red opaque stain.

Paso 5

Detalla la cara:

Pinta los ojos usando los tintes blanco y azul oscuro:
  1. usa el tinte blanco para pintar el globo del ojo.
  2. usa el tinte azul oscuro para pintar el iris.
  3. coloca un punto diminuto de tinte blanco en el iris para iluminar el ojo.
  4. dibuja el contorno de los ojos con el tinte opaco marrón.

Pinta los labios con el tinte opaco rojo.

Step 6

Now, let's start painting with chalks.

GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR PAINTING WITH CHALKS:

Usually an opaque stain color is used to basecoat the area to be decorated with chalks.

A stiff bristle brush will make your work easier. Do not use an excessive amount of chalk on your brush.

Reduce the excessive amount of chalk from your brush with a paper towel. Hold the brush almost flat against the surface when coloring the piece.

Rub the color in a circular motion and use very LITTLE pressure. Apply lightest colors first.

Each layer needs to be sealed with a fixative before applying the next layer of chalk.

Chalk then spray lightly, chalk again, spray lightly. Continue with this procedure until you obtain the desired color intensity.

Paso 6

Ahora comencemos a usar las tizas en nuestra pieza.

PROCEDIMIENTO GENERAL PARA DECORAR CON TIZAS:

Generalmente se da una base de tinte opaco a aquéllas áreas que se desea decorar con tiza.

Utiliza preferiblemente un pincel de cerda dura para aplicar la tiza. No cargues el pincel con cantidades excesivas de tiza.

Si tu pincel se carga mucho de tiza, sacúdelo sobre un papel toalla. Mantén el pincel casi a ras de la superficie al aplicar el color.

Aplica el color con un movimiento circular con una LEVE presión del pincel. Aplica los tonos suaves primero.

Será necesario un sellador mate o de porcelana para aplicar las diferentes capas de tiza que necesitarás para lograr el tono deseado.

Aplicarás la tiza, darás una FINA capa de sellador; aplicarás tiza de nuevo, otra capa de sellador y así sucesivamente hasta lograr la intensidad de color deseada.

Step 7

With a round brush and the magenta chalk, paint the cheeks.

Use the yellow chalk to color the goose, the girl's apron and hair bows.

Use the orange chalk for the goose back, beak and feet.

Use the green chalk for the leaves.

With a round brush and the violet chalk paint the girl's dress.

Paint the hair and shoes with the brown chalk.

Note:

To get a shadow effect you must apply more layers over that area. Decide from which side the light would come in order to know where to place the shadow.

Paso 7

Con el pincel redondo y la tiza magenta, pinta las mejillas.

Usa la tiza amarilla para pintar el ganso, el delantal de la niña y los lazos.

Usa la tiza anaranjada para la parte superior del ganso, el pico, y las patas.

Usa la tiza verde para las hojas .

Usa tiza violeta para el traje de la niña.

Pinta con tiza color marrón el pelo y los zapatos.

Nota:

Para efectos de sombra, aplica más capas sobre el área.. Debes decidir de que dirección se reflejaría la luz para saber dónde colocar la sombra.

Step 8

Paint the flowers with the peach opaque stain.

Pinta las flores con el tinte opaco melocotón.

Step 9

Start outlining the design using your opaque stains as follows:
  1. Doll flesh for the face.
  2. Brown stain for the hair and shoes, eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows.
  3. Black stain for the apron and the hair bows.
  4. Violet stain for the girl's dress.
  5. Green stain for the leaves and grass.
  6. Orange stain for the goose's feet and beak and the middle front of the goose's body.
  7. Bright yellow stain for the goose's back.
  8. Peach stain for the flowers.

For outlining always use an opaque stain color one tone darker than your chalk color.

 Paso 9

Comienza a delinear el diseño utilizando los tintes opacos de la siguiente manera:
  1. Tinte "Doll flesh" para la cara.
  2. Tinte marrón para los zapatos y el pelo, ojos, pestañas y cejas.
  3. Tinte negro para el delantal y lazos del pelo.
  4. Tinte violeta para el traje de la niña.
  5. Tinte verde para las hojas y grama.
  6. Tinte anaranjado para el pico, patas y el frente del cuerpo del ganso.
  7. Tinte amarillo para la espalda del ganso.
  8. Tinte melocotón para las flores.

Para delinear siempre utiliza un color de tinte opaco de un tono más obscuro que el color de tiza utilizado.

Step 10

Allow the piece to dry.

Permite que la pieza seque.

Step 11

Seal the piece.

You have finished your project.

Sella la pieza.

Tu proyecto está terminado.

For the boy's plaque follow the same instructions, using the colors as shown in the picture.
